OhioLINK print book request service will be unavailable beginning March 11 through the end of April. For more background on this change, see their FAQ page.

Please place any requests for OhioLINK (including SearchOhio) materials as soon as possible, and before March 10.

Chalmers Library will continue to circulate requests between the Five Colleges of Ohio via CONSORT. Users will still be able to click the green request button in the catalog and expect for materials to arrive in an amount of time comparable to that of normal OhioLINK deliveries.

For books inside OhioLINK but outside the CONSORT libraries, we will be supplementing this service with interlibrary loan (ILL), a separate service which does not depend on a courier. Please note that loan requests for books via ILL can take up to three weeks to arrive. If you are in need of only a chapter or a few pages from a book, please consider requesting that material only, which may be provided electronically in considerably less time.

Some other Points of Clarification:

  • The pause on delivery of OhioLINK books will have no effect on OhioLINK eresources. These will continue to be available as normal.
  • You may continue to return any OhioLINK books you have out during this time to the Chalmers Library Circulation Desk.
  • Kenyon borrowers may also travel to other OhioLINK institutions to check out materials at these locations. You will need to present your current Kenyon ID card at other libraries in order to check out their materials and you are encouraged to call libraries in advance to verify availability of materials. Generally, these materials may be returned to Kenyon.
  • Many public libraries in Ohio allow state residents over the age of 18 to acquire borrowing cards for their collections. Ohio public libraries have differing requirements to obtain these cards. See the State Library’s directory of Ohio public libraries and follow the links to their sites for more details.
